Fans of Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja’s critically acclaimed hack and slash Ninja Gaiden video game series may be in for a triple dose of nostalgia as a new rumor has cropped up, pointing to a potential trilogy collection.

A Reddit user by the name of “u/kokokko416” posted an image of a supposed listing from Hong Kong’s largest game publisher that a “Ninja Gaiden Σ Trilogy” is coming to Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch sometime in March 2021.

[Image][Rumor] Hong Kong largest game publisher/distributor listed “Ninja Gaiden Σ Trilogy” for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, which includes Ninja Gaiden Σ / Σ2 / Razer Edge, will be released on March 2021. from PS4

Aside from giving a possible release date listing and price point of $39.99, the image just lists the games packed in the trilogy. Ninja Gaiden made its debut on the original Xbox, before being ported to the Playstation 3 as Ninja Gaiden Σ with enhanced graphics and extra features. Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 also released for the PS3 but differs greatly from its Xbox 360 counterpart, with new features and cut content that technically make it an entirely new game. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge was released as an enhanced port for the Wii U.

Hopefully, this is one project that Koei Tecmo follows, as the Ninja Gaiden series has for sometime now been dormant. Could be a great way to introduce a new audience, especially for those who never got a chance to play the third iterations. However, as with all rumors you should take this one with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made. Perhaps this will be a surprise reveal for this year’s Tokyo Game Show? Guess we’ll find out later this month when the event is set to air online, in the meantime keep on hoping!
