Giving fans of Resident Evil something to look forward to before the game releases next month, the very first Resident Evil Village 4K gameplay via the PS4 Pro has been revealed — and it shows off quite the impressive visuals coming from a current generation system!

Posted by IGN, check out the gameplay trailer below featuring returning protagonist Ethan Winters exploring the European castle!

Originally announced as a PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, Capcom eventually announced that Resident Evil Village would also be coming to PS4 and Xbox One — giving those who have yet to upgrade to next gen console a chance to play the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise. As a direct continuation to RE7, RE Village sees Ethan Winters travelling to a mysterious European location after tragedy strikes his family. The sequel also sees the return of long time series protagonist Chris Redfield – whose role is as mysterious as it is darker compared to his more heroic portrayal in previous installments. Capcom also plans to hold a new RE Showcase digital event some time this month with new details and information, so stay tuned for that!

Recently, a new promotional image for RE Village was released — featuring Ethan Winters, Chris Redfield, Ethan and Mia’s baby Rose, and a mysterious new character. You can check out that poster here.

Resident Evil Village will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 7.
