Here’s some good news for single-player fans, CD Projekt RED has announced that the best-selling, highly reviewed game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to next-gen platforms! The Witcher 3 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are currently in development and will be available as a free standalone purchase, or as a free update to current owners of the game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One!

While no releae date has been given just yet, the press release states that some of the features players can expect include ray tracing and faster load times. This applies to the base game, both expansions and all the extra content.

About The Witcher franchise
Created by CD PROJEKT RED, The Witcher is a series of fantasy role-playing games following the adventures of professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia. To date, the series has sold over 50 million copies worldwide and garnered over 1000 awards. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and later in 2019 on the Nintendo Switch, won a total of 250 Game of the Year awards. The Witcher games are set in the universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski in his series of books.
As someone who adored The Witcher 3, this is definitely good news. Hopefully, we’ll get more content added sometime down the road as well. That might not be a while though, as the studio is hard at work on its current project, Cyberpunk 2077 which will be out this November.
