Fans of The Last of Us who were wondering whether or not Naughty Dog would be upgrading their latest offering in The Last of Us: Part 2 for the PS5 may have some hope coming their way, as a retail listing by the Best Buy Store has opened up the possibility that a next-gen upgrade of the sequel that was released this past June may be coming pretty soon.

As reported by VG 24/7, the listing for the physical copy of the game has a tag that says “includes next-gen upgrade”. That being the case, it implies that a PS5 version that includes some tweaks and improvements is being developed for Sony’s new system.

While The Last of Us: Part 2 is playable on the PS5, it’s pretty much the PS4 release only with faster loading thanks to the system’s specs and haptic feedback support with the DualSense controller. It’s still up in whether or not an upgrade is a small improvement or an update ala “The Last of Us Remastered”, but no official word has been given by Naughty Dog or the developers on this matter.
