Looks like the old Parker Luck is brewing in the newly released remaster of Insomniac Games’ first Spider-Man game, as a new report states that players should not put their PS5s in rest mode while playing Spider-Man Remastered, as it causes the entire system to crash.
According to a tweet by Giant Bomb’s Jeff Gertsmann, he experienced the misfortune of this technical problem and wanted to give the heads up and warn others about it.
Also every time I've had the PS5 go through that external drive repair sequence, it ends up on a black screen. I have to hit the power button on the console itself to force it into rest mode, then it comes back up and asks me to file an error report, then boots normally.

As Gertsmann recounts on his tweet, his PS5 crashed when the game went into rest mode and it required him to repair the external disk drive to get everything working again. Unfortunately it’s not a simple one and done procedure, as the system still ended in a black screen and only when he forced it into rest mode did he get things back and working again. As the PS5 just launched this week, this isn’t a good sign especially for those who want to replay Peter Parker’s webslinging adventures on the system again.
