As the PS5 prepares for its long awaited launch this week, Sony has pulled out the stops in promoting their newest console by bringing in celebrities to try out their new machine. Professional Tennis player Naomi Osaka was one of the lucky ones to try out the system first hand, and one of the games she got to play a bit was “Resident Evil Village”!

Here’s Naomi’s PS5 First Play video released by PlayStation showing the sports celebrity playing some Miles Morales and RE Village.

While there isn’t much to gleam on this first public look at gameplay in action, it does confirm that Ethan Winters will be going around a seemingly abandoned village and fighting all sorts of dangers and monsters that come his way.

This setup is not unlike that of the opening act of Resident Evil 4, when Leon S. Kennedy starts off his mission to save Ashley Graham only to be attacked by seemingly peaceful villagers under the control of the Los Illuminados. This time however it’s back to first-person perspective gameplay ala Resident Evil 7, and if Naomi’s reactions playing the game is any indication, it won’t be a walk in the park for those brave enough to dive into this survival horror experience.

Resident Evil Village will be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2021.
