After the internet got wind of some leaked images and details that offered some spoilers for the upcoming sequel, Capcom has released via IGN a new developer update and three new screenshots for Resident Evil Village — the new sequel coming to next generation consoles and PC which features the return of RE7 protagonist Ethan Winters as well as fan favorite series mainstay Chris Redfield.

Here are three new screenshots released exclusively by IGN:

In our previous Resident Evil Village story, several screenshots and details leaked that could be considered SPOILERS for the plot of the game, but these three new photos offer a new and official sneak peek at what’s to come for the new installment in the series.

The first two photos show off two creatures — one that looks like a Lion/ Human hybrid with a giant hammer, and then a Wolfman growling in the snow after feeding on some animals. The final picture shows off birds flying towards a derelict castle in the distance — possibly the same one featured in the game that overlooks the titular European village that Ethan travels to where the survival horror adventure takes place.

In the interview with IGN, Resident Evil Village producer Peter Fabiano expressed excitement and anticipation for the sequel coming out on the same year the Resident Evil franchise celebrates its 25th Anniversary:

“We’re really excited for fans to experience Resident Evil Village when it comes out in 2021. We feel it’s an accumulation of all the best elements of Resident Evil games from the past 25 years, with everything fans love about action-infused survival horror plus new surprises. Of course, there are plenty of puzzles to solve and mysteries to unfold.

“We hope fans will enjoy exploring the desolate, snowy village in which Resident Evil Village takes place, where enemies new to the franchise are waiting for them. Players will once again take control of Ethan Winters, experiencing more of the story set in motion in Resident Evil 7 biohazard. New technologies are allowing us to immerse players in the game in ways we couldn’t achieve before, in what we hope will be the most pulse-pounding Resident Evil game to date.”
