In what is certainly a case of trying to cash in on the hype and idea, a game called “Biohazard Village” by Forest Games went up on Steam earlier today according to Polygon — shamelessly lifting the Japanese name of Capcom’s “Resident Evil” franchise and adding the word “Village” to boot.
If that doesn’t sound up on the nose it should — as the game’s title deliberately works around the upcoming new RE game’s title “Resident Evil Village” and even uses the styled roman numeral writing in “Village” in an attempt to punctuate things further. As of this writing the game is nowhere to be found on Steam, and has probably been given a “cease and desist” order to stop selling on the distribution service. However, a YouTube user by the name of “Benjamin York Gaming” uploaded a video showing how the looks as well as gameplay footage… And it doesn’t look pretty at all.
Thankfully this game won’t be missed one bit. Check out more news on the REAL Resident Evil/Biohazard Village making an appearance on this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The game is scheduled to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC sometime in 2021
