Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness — a brand new CG animated series (initially thought to be a movie), was officially revealed by Capcom during their Tokyo Game Show “Capcom TGS Live 2020” special presentation, with a new poster image featuring returning RE2 protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Veteran Resident Evil series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi returns to help with this new animated film.

Infinite Darkness was revealed by Netflix Portugal after they posted the first teaser trailer on a now deleted tweet on their official Twitter page. Thankfully, we managed to snag a screenshot of it.

Posted hours before its intended reveal, this is a new Resident Evil project in line with previous CG animated efforts — namely Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: Damnation, and Resident Evil: Vendetta. Infinite Darkness will feature the return of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield — the protagonists of Resident Evil 2 who also reunited and lead the cast of RE: Degeneration animated film.

As far as story goes, the trailer gives off a dark and mysterious air to things. We see Claire Redfield entering an abandoned house, where she finds what looks to be broken sample holders and a dead body with a shotgun. Meanwhile, Leon S. Kennedy has a run in with a mysterious man that he saves from a zombie attack. Both character models will be familiar to fans, as Claire sports her outfit from Resident Evil Revelations 2 while Leon looks like his older veteran self from Resident Evil 6 but sporting a more professional government agent outfit.
