One of the surprise reveals during the PS5 games showcase was Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Not only did it feature what looked like fantastic platforming action, but it even gave us a look at how next-gen will affect gameplay.
In the latest dev diary released by the studio called “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – Insomniac Insights.” Creative Director Marcus Smith talks about the development of Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart on PS5, and how the next-gen console’s SSD (Solid State Drive) will project players into “near-instantaneous speeds” in between worlds. Thankfully, this talk is backed up by actual gameplay.
In addition to the PS5 SSD, Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart will also feature ray tracing as well, aside from other technical achievements that can only be handled by next-gen hardware.
Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart will hit the PS5 exclusively with an unannounced release date.
