It’s been nearly four years since PlatinumGames and Square Enix unleashed Nier: Automata first for the PS4 and PC, but the game apparently has a few surprises left to show — as a new cheat code discovered by Twitter user Lance McDonald allows players to skip to the last ending and check out the final secret of the game.
Here’s the tweet from Lance, showing a snippet of the cheat code being pulled off and getting players to the final act of this hack and slash action-RPG.
Ok Here it is! After being teased by the game's director @yokotaro two years ago, I discovered the "Final secret" in NieR Automata. Please take a moment to watch and retweet, as it was a monumental task. Also please enjoy the familiar cameo in the intro: https://t.co/XwhqDN5RmU pic.twitter.com/TfIMcHmriQ

For the full video and playthrough on how to pull this off, Lance also uploaded it in his YouTube channel:
Devised as a sequel to the 2010 game Nier and also a spin-off of the Drakengard series, Nier: Automata chronicles the exploits of androids named 2B, 9S, and A2, as they live in a post-apocalyptic world where a proxy war is waged between the human-made androids and machine invaders from another planet. YoRHa Androids are deployed from a station above Earth to help resistance forces on the planet turn the tide away from the machines. The game has many endings that can be unlocked, which encourages multiple playthroughs for players to get the entire picture of the story.
