Mortal Shell may be heavily inspired by the Soul series, but one thing it won’t share with it is the online multiplayer components such as PvP and co-op modes as it has been confirmed that there are currently no plans for a Mortal Shell multiplayer mode.

Posting on their frequently asked question (FAQ) channel on the Mortal Shell’s official Discord server, Cold Symmetry took to clearing the air on whether or not the game would feature multiplayer.

Are there any plans for multiplayer?

We’re focused on single-player, we’re a small indie team. There are no PVP or co-op plans for now.

This isn’t surprising as the team, as they say, is very small, only consisting of 15 people in total. Though that isn’t to say that it doesn’t have some talent behind it, with founders being involved in series such as Call of Duty, and even the upcoming Sony exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima. Of course, that could very well change down the road as the working suggests that they are open to it later. We’ll be sure to report on our sister site, MP1st, if the game does happen to get multiplayer, but for now, enjoy the fact that it’s single-player focus only.

Mortal Shell will be launching PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox one sometimes in quarter three of this year. If they do add it, what are you guys hoping for in Mortal Shell Multiplayer mode? Should it just be co-op only, or should they go the route of being PvP focus? Let us know in the comments down below!
