Looks like something from the world of Metal Gear has actually been made into a real artificial prosthetic that can be used by those who have lost their limbs, as UK based bionic hand making company Open Bionics has teamed up with Konami to develop an actual bionic arm like the one used in Metal Gear Solid 5!
Designed just like the arm that Venom Snake used in the game by Open Bionics, 29 year old Daniel Melville from the UK became the first recipient of the Metal Gear Solid Bionic Arm.
Here’s the overview of Dan’s background and reaction to getting the MGS inspired product:
29-year-old Daniel Melville, who was born without his right hand and has been wearing a Hero Arm for over 3 years, is the very first recipient of the new Metal Gear Solid design. Daniel, from Reading, U.K., said: “This is unbelievable. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a bionic arm. I’m an avid gamer and love Metal Gear Solid so much and to actually have Snake’s arm in real life is just insane.”
Definitely an impressive technological feat as it is a Metal Gear fan’s dream come to life, this is one video game inspired product that will help change the lives of amputees and people who have lost limbs.
