It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Hideo Kojima finished his obligations with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and ended his working relationship with Konami, striking off on his own to create a new version of Kojima Productions and partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create new IPs — the first of which is last year’s post-apocalyptic adventure in Death Stranding.

Now Kojima and his crew plan on celebrating their 5th Anniversary by taking to social media on December 16 — promising some exciting announcements and updates as posted in their Twitter.

It’s not quite known what Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions have in store for us, but the best guess will most likely be one of these things — a new update or follow up to Death Stranding, a new IP or game that’s currently in development, or god-willing the cancelled Silent Hill reboot “Silent Hills”. Unfortunately the latter game series is owned by Konami, and it’s unlikely that project will be resurrected unless fences were mended and a new deal was struck between the two parties after the messy history both had five years ago. Either way, let’s look forward to what Kojima Productions has in store for us on December 16!
