While The Last of Us 2 might be a super-serious game that prides itself in its authenticity and realism, that doesn’t mean Naughty Dog doesn’t know how to have fun. Over the course of your travels, you’ll come across Easter eggs relating to Naughty Dog’s previous games — the Uncharted, and Jak & Daxter franchises!
Before proceeding down below, some might want to experience it themselves, and if so, you might want to turn away. Only two of these Easter eggs are tied to a Trophy, so they are worth checking out.
The Last of Us 2 Jak & Daxter Easter egg:
As you can see, there’s a Jak & Daxter racing cabinet pictured. This little nugget was also used by Naughty Dog in the Left Behind DLC for the The Last of Us 1. The next on is a mish mash of Easter eggs though, as it includes one for the PS3, Jak & Daxter, and Uncharted!
The Last of Us 2 Uncharted Easter eggs:
Once you’re in the part where you’re in the bank (Seattle Day 1, Downtown for Ellie), you’ll come across a big safe that has safety deposit boxes surrounding the room. The right side has one box that you can interact with, and opening it will get you Nate’s ring complete with the “sic parvis magna” quote, which means “Greatness From Small Beginnings.” Obtaining this will earn you the “So Great and Small” Trophy.
In addition to that, there’s also a Nathan Drake Halloween costume too!
Finally, there’s also another Easter egg tied to Uncharted with the Strange Artifact collectible. There’s also a Trophy tied to this, and this is the same artifact present in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. You can check out our guide for that here.
Bonus: The Last of Us 2 PS Vita Easter eggs:
As an added treat, Naughty Dog has included an Easter egg for the PS Vita!
If you haven’t done so, make sure to check out our (spoiler-free) review of The Last of Us 2 to see what we make of it. We’ll be posting more guides on the game soon, so keep an eye out here on SP1st!
