Looks like Square Enix is getting ready to unleash more life into the world of Final Fantasy 7 following the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake last year, that the company has filed a couple of trademarks — namely with the words “Ever Crisis” and “The First Soldier”, as well as the Shinra Electric Power Company logo.
As Gematsu reports, the trademarks all appear to be linked to Final Fantasy 7 in one form or another — especially with the Crisis spin-off games and a reference to Sephiroth himself.
“Ever Crisis” shares a similar name to the 2004-released mobile game Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII and 2007-released PSP game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
“The First Soldier” seems to be a reference to Sephiroth, the main villain of the Final Fantasy VII series.
The Shinra Electric Power Company is an organization in the world of Final Fantasy VII.
While it’s too early to tell what Square Enix is planning, they are already working on the next installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which will pick up right after Cloud Strife and his party leave Midgar for the open world — learning more about Sephiroth’s agenda as well as the mysteries surrounding Shinra, the Ancients, and the Planet itself.
