Here’s an interesting turn of events: Square Enix has mysteriously released the Final Fantasy 7 Remake update 1.10 (FF7 Remake update 1.01), and it’s live now! It clocks in at just 141MB on the PS4, so don’t expect any new content.

FF7 Remake Update 1.01 Patch Notes:

The only thing the PS4 update history says is:

  • Fixed various bugs

That’s it basically. Chances are, this is like the God of War 2018 patch that was stealth released, which was mostly for the PS5’s backward compatibility.

We’re on the look out for any potential gameplay-related changes. So far, the offiical Twitter account has not acknowledged the patch, though we’re counting on the game’s community to give further insight.

If you still haven’t bought the game yet, go check out our review and see why we said, “I went into this Remake expecting it to not hold up to the original and ended up being completely wrong. Final Fantasy 7 Remake excels in every expectation that I had, making this one of the best Final Fantasy games to date. It may not be the Remake that many had hoped for, but rest assured it is still Final Fantasy 7 in every other way. This will be sitting alongside other classics in the years to come, and we look forward to seeing where the journey ends.”
