With the launch of next generation systems happening this week, “Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition” gets a launch trailer that reintroduces us to Dante’s twin brother, Nero’s father, and the new playable character of the game in Vergil.
Courtesy of Capcom, here’s the trailer that recaps most of the game’s story — which means SPOILERS for those who haven’t finished DMC5 yet so view at your own risk!
As the oldest sibling among the two twins, Vergil is the stoic and serious half-demon son of Sparda who embraces his demonic heritage and wishes to claim the powers of his father. Locked in an eternal rivalry with his brother Dante, he wields the dark-forged katana called Yamato and utilizes a variety of abilities that includes Mirage Blade and his Devil Trigger. In Devil May Cry 5, Vergil was split into two halves represented by human side named V and his demon side called Urizen. Eventually both selves recombine and he is restored to his former self. Now in Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, players will be able to control Vergil in the game, and take him for a spin while also gaining access to new and challenging modes of play.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will be released digitally for the Xbox Series X|S on November 10 and for the PS5 on November 12. The physical release will arrive on December 1.
