Ahead of the Control AWE expansion release, Remedy has announced Control Ultimate Edition, the complete edition of Control packaged with all the expansions and game updates.

Details of it’s full content can be found below, along with a new trailer highlighting the major expansions.

Control Ultimate Edition Content

  • Control base game
  • The Foundation (Expansion 1)
  • AWE (Expansion 2)
  • Expeditions end game mode, Photo Mode and all content updates since the release of the original game.

Additionally, for those hoping to play Control on either the PS5 or Xbox Series X, you may be disappointed to learn that the only way to get a new version is to buy the ultimate edition of the game. Per the official Control FAQ, owners of the original Control will not qualify for a free upgrade. They did not specify if they would release a free update for the original so that it is optimized for next-gen consoles via backwards compatibility.

Control Ultimate Edition will be releasing on Steam on August 27, with the PS4, Xbox One, and Epic Game Store versions launching on September 10. For those who currently own the expansion, there will be no need to purchase this edition. Control AWE will also be launching on August 27 for all platform.

About Control AWE:

The second expansion, AWE, will take Jesse into a new part of the Oldest House, the Investigations Sector, where the Bureau closely examines Altered World Events.

As Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, Jesse Faden must enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau. This threat has haunted the sector for years, waiting on the other side of the sealed Firebreak. In order to reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the numerous Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls. AWE brings new story content and side missions as well as new weapons and mods to the world of Control.

We’ll have more details on Control AWE later this week.
