It’s been a while since we’ve seen any news regarding PlatunumGames long awaited Bayonetta 3, but the game’s creator and legendary video game developer Hideki Kamiya has spoken about the progress of the sequel during the recent Arcade Archives stream — saying they’re currently working on the project and hope to give more updates soon.
“Well, I suppose…we’ve been working on new stuff like Bayonetta 3, not that I can say too much… but I hope we can give an update during the year.”
While that’s pretty much the standard Kamiya reply, the man who has worked on games such as the original Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry previously answered a question by Video Games Chronicle that he sees every fans tweets about whether the game has been cancelled or not — to which he responded firmly that it’s still very much happening.
“I’m on Twitter so I see a lot of comments every day. I’m happy that there’s still anticipation for the title, but one thing I would like to address is the trend I’m seeing which is people who are starting to ask if the game has been cancelled. I want you guys to take any concerns you have like that and throw them out the window immediately because we’re still hard at work on it and it hasn’t been cancelled by any means. Please look forward to it!”
Bayonetta 3 was announced nearly four years ago at The Game Awards 2017, which we covered here. The game is set to be released for the Nintendo Switch.
