Fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise got a pretty awesome announcement from Netflix themselves, as the streaming service just announced that they are developing a live-action series based on Ubisoft’s long running action-adventure stealth game franchise.
Here’s the tweet from Netflix, accompanied by a short teaser video.

If the teaser is any indication on what may probably be adapted by Netflix, the song used is “Ezio’s Family” — one of the themes prominently played in Ezio Auditore da Firenze story in Assassin’s Creed II and its sequel Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. As one of the most recognizable characters and heroes of the franchise, Ezio’s story would be a great tale to adapt for the Assassin’s Creed live-action series — as his tale is set during the Renaissance period and set during the period of the Borgia rule of Rome and Italy. Ezio’s story would also continue in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, where he would travel to Constantinople to learn more about the origins of the Assassin Order and his ancestor, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad.
